Who are you？ A: I am Santa. Who else? B: I can't believe it. Where are you from? A: I'm from Greenland. What do you want? B: Give me your reindeer. A: No, I can't. 疑問詞のwhat, where, who を理解するのにとってもいいチャンツだと思っています 普段から、 Where are you from? Where do you live? Where is a pencil? Who is it? What do you want for your birthday? What do you want to eat today? のようなQAは繰り返しやっていますが、 疑問詞を聞いたときに、何を聞かれているのかパッと判断して答えを用意する力って 子供も大人もコミュニケーションを取る上で大事です😀 "Where are you from?" という質問にはみんな反射的に"I'm from..."って答えられる子がほとんどですが、このチャンツをすることで「ああ、そっかー。Where＝どこ！」って認識を深めることができればいいなと思っています 高学年の子たちはこの疑問詞に対する反応がだいぶよくなっていて、どんな答えが求められているのかよく判断できるようになってきています 3-4年生にもその力をと思ってます このチャンツ、サンタさ...

Rainy day project In third and fourth graders made colorful umbrellas as their rainy day project! ３年生、4年生クラスでは雨の日の活動として傘づくりをしました It had actually been quite sunny in the past few weeks though. 実際はここ数週間結構晴れの日が続いていましたが😂 They are kind of having problem remembering weather-related vocabs. どちらのクラスもお天気に関する単語がなかなが覚えられずにいます💦 So I hope this project helped them reinforce the words used. 傘づくりと同時進行でお天気用語繰り返しやってきたので定着するといいな この傘づくり、意外と作るのが大変だった😫 Umbrella craft actually required some good technics. 結構手間がかかったけど、思い思いの傘を手にしてみんな満足気だったのでよしとします！ Yet all the efforts paid off and every kid seemed happy with their umbrella! So who cares. 幼児クラスでは"Rain rain go away"の手遊びを練習中です The younger class has been practicing "Rain Rain Go away" hand play.  自分の名前が呼ばれるとうれしそうでかわいいです When their name's is called, they seem delighted and it is so cute.

  I am sorry to hear that Eric Curl passed away at the age of 91. I love his pictures and how different colors are used in his books. I actually read his books not only to the kids but also to my adult students just because I believe they would enjoy the beautiful pictures. 絵本作家のエリックカールさんが91歳で亡くなったと知りました。 私は彼の絵、色使いがとても好きです。 子供のクラスだけでなく、大人のクラスでも彼の本を読むことがあります。単に絵がきれいなので大人も楽しめるのではないかと思うからです。 at the age of ～歳で just because 単に～という理由で The kids love his picture books and some of the phrases used in his books are easy for them to say so they have been quite helpful in my lessons.  When my eldest daughter was seven years old, she actually memorized every single word in Brown bear and able to recite the entire book.
