From Zurich airport to Bern, From Bern to the local village where I stayed, From Bern to Milano Italy, From Bern to Zermatt (the base town of Matterhorn) I took trains and I've realized how expensive they are. I mean everything is extremely expensive in Switzerland so train fare is nothing exceptional but still...
チューリッヒからベルン、ベルンから今回滞在した郊外まで、ベルンからイタリアのミラノまで、ベルンからマッターホルンの麓の街であるツェルマットまで、いろんな電車に乗りましたが総じて電車は高いと感じました。スイスの物価自体が異常に高いので電車も特別ではないのかもしれないですが。。。

For example, Zurich airport to Bern costed me almost 9,000 JPY. The time it took was only 50 minutes. I found it quite expensive but what do you think? On the other hand, the ticket my friend booked for me in advance only costed 6,000 JPY. In Europe the earlier you book train tickets, the less you pay. So if you know your schedule, you should always book tickets to save money. And I should also note that those tickets can be sold out soon so you'd better be quick!
例えばチューリッヒ空港からベルン駅までは約9000円かかりました。乗車時間は約50分。私的にはかなり高いと思ったのですがどう思いますか？一方で事前に購入できる割引チケットは約6000円。ヨーロッパでは早く予約すればするほど、安くチケットを買えます。スケジュールが決まっているのであれば早めに買うとお得です。人気なのですぐ売り切れる前に買いましょう！

こっちが事前予約で購入できるスイス国内の1日乗り放題チケットで約6000円。

Yet the metro in Milano had a great deal. A single fare costed only 2.5 euro flat rate and you can save money by getting one day ticket which costs 10 euro.
ミラノ市内を走るメトロ（地下鉄）はリーズナブルでした。片道チケット（どこまで行っても一律料金）は2.5ユーロ。更に1日券10ユーロを購入すればお得です。

Punctuality

How about punctuality? They seemed pretty all right compared to the trains in other areas of the world. But it still delays. There was one time the train stopped for 20 minutes. You might feel so inconvenient if you are used to Japanese trains but for me from the experience of living in Australia, it is nothing. I've gone through worse... But I'd say you should always be prepared for that kind of unscheduled stop if you are taking trains in other countries.
時間の正確さは？世界的にみるとそんなに悪い方ではなさそうな印象でしたがそれでもやっぱり遅れはあります。私が乗ったときも20分くらい止まったときがありました。日本の電車に慣れているととても不便に感じるかもしれませんが海外では当たり前のこと。私の場合オーストラリアで度々ひどい目にあっていたのでこういうのに耐性はあります。ただ、海外で電車に乗る時は（バスも然り）そういうことを想定しておくといいでしょう。

Ticket gates
改札
In Switzerland, there weren’t ticket gates at train stations but they check your tickets on board. Most locals seemed to have their tickets as QR codes on their phone. I remember my friend said they buy tickets on app so that the code is automatically downloaded to your phone.
In Italy, they had ticket gates and you are supposed to scan your tickets to open the gate just like how we do in Japan. I prefer to scan tickets at the gate rather than being checked on board for some reasons.
スイスでは駅に改札がありません。乗車してからチェックがあります。現地の人たちはみんなスマホにQRコードでチケットを登録して読み取っていました。友達も普段チケットはアプリで購入して自動的にQRコードがダウンロードされるのだと言ってました。
イタリアには改札があり、日本でするようにスキャンするとゲートが開いて構内に入っていける感じ。個人的にはやっぱり改札でスキャンする方が楽だと思いました。

Getting off
降りる時は
When getting off, you need to hit the button to open the door, and if not, the door doesn't open and you will end up being taken to the next stop. My friend repeatedly told me to make sure that I hit the button when I went out by myself. This is something else you should know because we don't have to do it in Japan.
電車を降りる時は「降りる」ボタンを押すひつようがあります。でないと、ドアは開かないので次の駅まで連れてかれちゃいます。私が一人で出かける時は友達に口酸っぱく「ボタンを押すんやで！」（彼女は生粋の関西人です）と言われました。これも日本ではない習慣なので知っておきたいことですね。

Train designs
電車のデザイン
Personally I really liked designs of trains, metro and trams in those countries. The colors and the shapes are just so cute. Especially my favorite is the mountain train I took from Zermatt to Matterhorn. I don't know how to describe but they are different from Japanese ones and just so cute. It looks great with the blue in the sky!
個人的に今回訪れた国の電車や地下鉄、トラムのデザインがとても好きです。色や形がすごくかわいい！特に私のお気に入りはツェルマットからマッターホルンまで乗った山岳鉄道の車体。どう表現したらいいのかよくわからないのですが日本のと違ってただかわいいんです。青空にオレンジが映えてかわいい！

2階建ても一般的。長距離列車には食堂車が標準装備されている。
ミラノのメトロも遊び心満点のデザイン！好き！
スイスでもドイツでもイタリアでもトラムが走ってた。
トラムの存在に慣れていないので振り返るとそこにいる！
何度かひかれそうになって町の人たちに助けられました。
