Give the side eye




side eyeとはその言葉の通り「横目」のこと。
つまり、give the side eyeで「横目で見る」ということですが
suspicious　疑い
disapproval　非難
annoyed　苛立ち
という感情の表現。

例：
①　Hey, cut it out. People are giving the side eye.
　　ねえやめて。みんなこっちを見てるよ。

②　Don't give the side eye. That's rude!
　　横目で見るのはやめて。失礼だよ。

その他の"eye"を使った表現

Keep your eye on ...　～から目を離すな！
We are behind. Keep your eye on the ball. We've got only a few minutes left.
負けてるんだぞ。ボールから目を離すな。あと残り数分しかない。

Can't believe one's eye.　信じられない、目を疑う
I just saw Ryan with a girl on subway and I just couldn't believe my eye!
He told me he was gonna be at work today. 
地下鉄でライアンが女の子といるのを見たの。自分の目を疑ったわ。
今日は仕事だって言ってたのに。

have an eye for...　～を見る目がある、目利きだ
She's got an eye for arts. Her place is full of awesome pieces.
彼女はアートをわかってる。彼女の家は家中素晴らしい作品だらけだ
※have＝have got

catch someone's eye　人の目に留まる
The work he posted to You-tube caught my eye.
I want to offer him to sign to my label.
彼がユーチューブに投稿した作品が私の目に留まったんです
うちとの契約を打診したい

in the blink of an eye　瞬く間に
The situation changed in the blink of an eye.
瞬く間に状況が変わった

Keep my eye on ..とcatch my eye は私も普段からよく使う表現です。

But it will take 7000 construction workers to build the plant and three thousand operators. The vast expenses of parking lot areas in places like Walmart or within the housing projects illustrates its importance. But there is a new issue in parking landscape with two possible solutions. The dilemma: how can city officials implement varying parking charges for different cars to increase revenue while maintaining fairness for car owners? Solution one: What about charging more for cars that emit more pollutants ? It seems sensible considering global focus on climate change. Solution two: What about if we charge larger, heavier vehicles more because they consume more parking space? Both these ideas are being tested worldwide. In the UK, for example, driving a fossil fuel power dirty car in cities like London or Dublin means you'll be paying through the nose . Your parking fee would be double compared to eco-friendly vehicles.
