一気見したいけど時間がなーい😭
それでもなんとか12話まで見ました👍
ブレットとクルースが、オーチスが居なくなった部屋をついに貸し出そうかと相談するシーンです。
I'm currently obsessed with this drama, Chicago Fire season 8.
You know it isn't available on Prime Video yet and I actually purchased the entire season!
I would love to watch all the episodes straight but My schedule doesn't allow me to.
I'm already on Ep. 12 though...
We've got Brett and Cruiz finally started to consider renting out Otis's old room.

Brett: Hey, I'm sorry to bring this up, but, rent is starting to eat into my savings account.

Cruiz: Oh, uh, I can cover a couple hundred bucks a month, at least while the Slamigan money's coming through.
ああ、月200-300ドルなら僕が出すよ。スラミガンの売上が入って来てるうちは払える。

Brett: That's really sweet of you, but...don't you think we should rent out that extra room?
ありがたいわ。でも空き部屋をそろそろ貸し出すべきだと思わない？

Cruiz: Yeah, probably.

"bring ...up" で話題に出すという意味があります。bringのコアの意味は「持ってくる」なので故意にあることについて話し出すというニュアンスです。ここではsorry toと組み合わせて「言いにくいんだけど」「こんなこと言いたくないんだけど」という使い方がされています。
"eat into"は、文字通り「食べる」「中に入っていく」ので害虫などが食い荒らすだったり、侵食するのような意味で使われることもありますが、ここでは目的語が"savings account"と預金口座になっているため「お金を使い込む」という意味です。"is starting to eat into"と進行形の表現であることから「そろそろ預金口座を食い荒らし始める」＝貯金を切り崩さないとならなくなりそうという意味になります。


A: Hey, this is a brilliant idea. Who brought this idea up?
　これ素晴らしいアイデアだね。誰が言いだしたの？
B: Paul did.
　ポールだよ。
A: I knew he is a genius.
　やっぱり彼って天才だよね。

A: You seem very busy lately. You don't even show up to Mory's. What have you been up to?
　最近忙しそうだね。モリーズにも寄らないし。何やってるの？
B: Nothing really. It's just a load of house chores and kids stuff eating into my time.
　何って、何も。ただ家事と育児が忙しくって時間を食い尽くされてるの。
A: Poor thing.
　大変ね。
