ポイント：

～であるのかどうか疑問に思う、～かどうか知りたいと思う

＝～だろうか、～かな？（確信が持てないときに頭につけることで明言を避けます）

I wonder if 主語＋動詞　※ifの後ろの節は肯定文の形

例文

I wonder if that is his bag？

あれって彼のかばんかな？

I wonder if she is coming to the party tonight. Does anybody know?

彼女今夜のパーティに来るんだろうか？誰か知ってる？

He doesn't pick up the phone. I wonder if he has finished his work.

彼電話に出ないよ。もう仕事終わってるのかな？


I wonder if.../I wonder 疑問詞を使って話してみましょう

あれは食べ物だろうか？

あれは軟膏だろうか？(ointment/cream)

あれは調味料の一種かな？(seasoning)

どのようにして彼らはそれを使うのか疑問だ

いつ、どこで彼らはそれを使うのかな？

日本人は気に入るかどうか疑問です

将来私はオーストラリアに行けるのだろうか？

野生のイルカを見れるだろうか？


今あなた自身が、「～だろうか」と疑問に思っていることがあれば、話してみましょう


合わせて覚えておきたい表現

ポイント：

～であることに疑問はない、～だとは納得だ

＝なるほどね、～ってことなんだ（新たに知り得たことに対して納得している）

No wonder + 主語＋動詞　

例文

Oh, did she study in China? No wonder she speaks fluent Chinese.

え、彼女中国に留学してたの？だから流ちょうな中国語話すんだね。

No wonder this place is always packed. The food tastes really good.

いつもここが満員なの納得だよ。すごくおいしいね。


No wonder...を使って話してみましょう

It is made from/of/out of/with の

違いと使い方

(1)made from　～からできている

（見た目から材料がわからないようなとき）

Vegemite is made from brewer's yeast extracts, salt and vegetables.

ベジマイトは酵母エキス、塩、野菜からできています

(2)made of/made out of　～でできている

（見た目から材料がわかるようなとき）

Didgeridoo is made out of eucalyptus trees.

ディジュリジュはユーカリの木でできています

(3)made with ～を使って作られている

（使われている材料を言うとき、主に料理の材料に用いられる）

Vegemite is made with some local products.

ベジマイトは一部地元産の材料を使用して作られています

This soup is made with love.

このスープは愛情込めて作られている

Vegemite is made with this special equipment.

ベジマイトはこの特別な設備を使って作られています


味噌は大豆と塩からできています

私の財布はクロコダイルの皮でできています

そのマカダミアナッツはこのロースターを使って作られています



Vegemite has a very strong smell and flavor.

Vegemite sandwich was one of the most popular school lunch among my classmates　 at high school.

Even babies eat them despite that fact they are high in sodium！

The project costs 20 billion dollars and though the bulk of the money is entails, some of it will come from the government which is throwing 52 billion dollars in subsidies of the semiconductor industry.   It’s part of the flood of money the government is directing towards industry investment in a plan to outrun China and retain economic superiority in the 21 st century. But it will take 7000 construction workers to build the plant and three thousand operators. The vast expenses of parking lot areas in places like Walmart or within the housing projects illustrates its importance. But there is a new issue in parking landscape with two possible solutions. The dilemma: how can city officials implement varying parking charges for different cars to increase revenue while maintaining fairness for car owners? Solution one: What about charging more for cars that emit more pollutants ? It seems sensible considering global focus on climate change. Solution two: What about if we charge larger, heavier vehicles more because they consume more parking space? Both these ideas are being tested worldwide. In the UK, for example, driving a fossil fuel power dirty car in cities like London or Dublin means you'll be paying through the nose . Your parking fee would be double compared to eco-friendly vehicles.
