日本語の「チャンス」に相当するような英単語を思い浮かべると

あたりが思い浮かびます

微妙にニュアンスの違いはあるものの

"chance"と"opportunity"は置き換えて使える場面も多いです

①chance

全く予期せぬ機会や出来事がchanceです

”chance”は自分の意思などと関係なく向こうから勝手にやってきます

偶然性が強く、自分には選択肢がないような状況でいいことにも悪いことにも使います

例文

If you get a chance, you should definitely try the restaurant.

There is a chance of rain this afternoon.

②opportunity

日本語の「チャンス」に一番近い意味を持つのがこの”opportunity"ではないかと思います

"opportunity"は自分から掴みに行くことできっかけを作っているような状況です

またそれをきっかけに前進が見込めたり、利益があったりと物事がプラスに進むような機会に使われます

"opportunity"には偶然性はなく、ネガティブな内容にはつかいません

例文

It’s a great opportunity to start your new business.

Have you had any opportunity to climb Mt. Fuji?

③occasion

特別な行事や特定の場面、時を指し、"opportunity"よりも物事の起きる場面がより限定的になります

何かしらの行動をとるのに適した時のことを指します

例文

I want to take this occasion to thank my team members.

④possibility

どちらかというと「可能性」という意味が強くなりますが、状況によってはチャンスを説明するのに使える単語かと思います

例文

There is a slight possibility to win the competition.

The possibility of success is fairly low but you should at least have a go.
