I'm in if you are down　君が行くなら私も行く！

I'm in!


 Two weeks ago I watched a movie called ”Chiadan” 

which has Suzu Hirose and Ayami Nakajo in it.

2週間ほど前、広瀬すずと中条あやみがでている「チアダン」って映画を見ました

It is not a kind of movie that I usually watch 

but I decided to watch it just because my daughter wanted to.

この手の映画、自分から進んで見ることないんですが、

娘が見たいと言ったので一緒に見ることにしました。

And it turned out to be a lot of fun!

結果、すごくおもしろかったです😍

It was way better than what I expected.

思っていたよりも全然いい映画でした。

○○called... ～という○○

just because　単に～という理由で

way better than　～よりもずっと、はるかに


One of the songs used in the movie was ”Good time” of The owl city.

そしてその中で使われていた曲が、

私と娘がよく聞いているThe owl cityのGood timeという曲でした

She got excited to hear the song she knows, 

and ever since she wants to listen to the song whenever she plays music.

知ってる曲がかかったので娘はノリノリになって、それ以来こればっかり聞いてます💜

What is so surprising is that she has already picked up the lyrics.

歌えるようになってるからびっくり

get excited　喜ぶ（get＋形容詞でその状態になる⇔be＋形容詞はその状態が続いている）

ever since それ以来

whenever　○○の時はいつでも

what is surprising is that　驚くべきこととは～であること

（what：関係副詞の「～であること」、that：接続詞「～ということ」）


I’d like to introduce a phrase from the song.

その曲の歌詞からワンフレーズ

”I’m in if you are down to get down tonight.”

I'd say this is one of the most confusing phrase for Japanese people 

with be verbs, prepositions and if coming one after another.

be動詞と前置詞とifという、日本人にはとらえずらい文法が満載のフレーズですね😓

It's a slang used among young people and slangs are usually composed of 

words that do not really have the exact meanings.

若者のスラングで、スラングにはこういった意味のとらえずらい単語が

使われてることが多いですよね

Yet, if you break it down into pieces, they are just as simple.

でもバラバラにしてみるととても単純なこと言ってます😉

I'd say　私が思うに

confusing　混乱しやすい

be verbs　be動詞

prepositions　前置詞

one after another　次々に

be composed of　～で構成されている

break～down into pieces　ばらばらにする


①I’m in. 「私も行く！」「私も入れて！」

例えば...

A: Me and Lisa are going to Jason's tonight. Who is in?

私とリサで今夜ジェイソンの家に行くの。誰か行く人いる？

B: I'm in!

私行く！

②If you are down 「もしあなたが賛成するなら」

例えば...

A: Why don’t we eat out tonight? If you are down, I want to try the new diner at the corner.

今夜外食しない？もし賛成してくれるなら、角にある新しいダイナーに行ってみたんだよね。

B: I'm down.

賛成だよ

※ちなみに、I’m up for it. という表現もあり、これも意味は「賛成。その話乗った！」のような意味でよく使われます

③to get down tonight 「今夜パーティーすることに」不定詞

例えば...

A: Hands up if you wanna get down tonight.

今日飲み行く人手挙げて～！

B: Me！

私行く！

※ちなみに、手を挙げてって言われたときに日本でする挙手はご法度です💦

必ず人差し指だけを立てて手挙げましょう。

日本的な挙手は、ナチスドイツの敬礼と見なされるのでやめておきましょう！
